2014 Shearing

Our 2014 shearing was a success. Thank you to all our wonderful friends and family who attended again this year and volunteered to lend a hand. It is always an exciting time when we can see the results of a year's worth of work keeping those fleeces clean. If you couldn't make it this year to check out the fun be sure to join us next February. Remember, there is always coffee and tidbits to tempt you out on a cold morning!

Here are some of the highlights:
Matilda's creamy musket fleece.
Sweet little Vivian tries to talk me out of her first shearing. Such a cuite.
Our new girl Cupcake has amazing crimp to go with that color!
Violet's stunning emsket lamb fleece! Amazing color!
Some you might be wondering how our little "special needs" girl, Onyx has been doing. (For those of you who might not know, Onyx was born blind.) She has been doing wonderfully and growing like a normal lamb. She socializes and has no problem getting enough to eat at the feeders. We have had to make a few accommodations for her, but she seems to be able to work out most sheepy type problems on her own.

Kisses and reassurance from me.
And a little reassurance from Jeff.
Then off with the belly wool! Feet up!
Onyx goes back to the flock. Look at all those naked sheep!
